- A: Most electrical tools, appliances, electronic devices, and audio/visual equipment have labels that indicate the power consumption in amps or watts. Be sure that the power consumption of the product to be operated is below or at 500 watts or 4.2-amps. If the power consumption is rated in amps, simply multiply by the AC volts (120) to determine the wattage.3 years agoHelpful?

Q: I'd like to use this product connected to a 12 volt battery with a solar 12v panel and then to a 250W heat bulb/lamp. Can you give me an estimate as to how long the the battery should last if being powered by the solar panel. Thanks

- A: This unit is designed as an automotive inverter. The manufacture does not recommend using it for solar or alternative power configurations.
