Q: does it come inblack
2 days ago- A: This is the only available color option.23 hours agoHelpful?
Q: what about a four inch gap does this work
5 days ago- A: This latch is designed for a clearance of 1 inch to 1-5/8 inches between the gate and the post. While shimming can help for gaps up to 2 inches, a 4-inch gap would likely be too large for standard installation.4 days agoHelpful?
Q: what are the extra brass pieces for?
6 days ago- A: The extra gold or brass-colored pieces included with the CountyLine 2-Way Lockable Gate Latch are sizing adapters (shims)4 days agoHelpful?
Q: What size are the holes used to attach latch to wooden post? Since bolts aren't included for that piece and there's no mention in specs.
a month ago- A: The latching mechanism requires four bolts for installation, and reviewers recommend using 1/4" x 3" wood lag bolts or large exterior-rated screws to attach it to a wooden post.a month agoHelpful?
Q: The bolt only just goes through to the other hole when inserted. It’s not long enough to then attach the nut to the bolt. Is there a trick to this that I am unaware of, or did I buy one with incorrect bolt lengths included?
a month ago- A: It is possible the included bolts are too short for your specific installation. Some users have found the provided bolts to be insufficient and recommend purchasing longer lag bolts, hex screws, or 1/4" x 3" wood lag bolts separately to ensure a secure fit to the post.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Will this fit country line 12 ft by 52 in 6 bar heavy duty tube farm gate 2 in tube red item # 3603116
2 months ago- A: Yes, this latch will fit that gate. It is designed to fit round tube gates with an outer diameter of 1-5/8 inches to 2 inches, which matches the 2-inch tubing on the gate you mentioned.2 months agoHelpful?
Q: will this fit a 3.5 in./4 in round post
2 months ago- A: No, this latch is designed to fit round tube gates with an outer diameter of 1-5/8 inches to 2 inches only, so it will not accommodate a 3.5 inch or 4 inch round post.2 months agoHelpful?
Q: What is the clearance required between post and gate?
7 months ago- A: For the gate latch they will want a maximum of about 1- 5/8” and a minimum of about 1”. If the gate and the fence post are further apart than the maximum like 1.75” – 2” then the portion that attaches to the fence post can be shimmed out to make that distance smaller.7 months agoHelpful?
Q: What space do i need between post and gate?
10 months ago- A: For the gate latch they will want a maximum of about 1- 5/8” and a minimum of about 1”. If the gate and the fence post are further apart than the maximum like 1.75” – 2” then the portion that attaches to the fence post can be shimmed out to make that distance smaller.10 months agoHelpful?
Q: My lock needs to be access by Alabama power. They have a lock that I attached ny padlock too right now with a steel eye hook. How can I fet this lock to work having to use two padlocks?
a year ago- A: Most gate latches of this design type are meant for a single lock. For two locks on this type of a gate latch you will have to continue to use the steel eye hook or something similar.a year agoHelpful?
