The SmartStraps 2 in. x 27 ft. Yellow Ratchet with Double J-Hook provides extra stability for traveling long distances. This yellow ratchet can be used for the heaviest loads that are often hauled on a large trailer or flatbed, large equipment, larger tractors, and vehicles. The SmartWeb technology of this ratchet provides webbing that is stronger and more abrasion resistant than standard webbing. The SmartStraps ratchet offers a overmolded, padded handle as well as overmolded release pawl that is sturdy, and won't jam when under a heavy load. It has high capacity, high visibility webbing that is extra long for securing.

- A: Thread the strap through the axle in the center of the ratchet. Attach hooks to anchor points, pull out the slack in the webbing and pump the ratchet until webbing is wrapped around the axle. Do not use around sharp edges.9 years agoHelpful?

I bought 4 of these straps to tie my jeep down when we go wheelin . . They work flawlessly . . Great price and great value . . I could just use 2 with the rating but I always do a bit of overkill . .

Bought straps few weeks ago and first time I used two of them they wouldn't release. Had to finally cut to get load off trailer. Handle would flex and not release. Would suggest buying better straps

Not what they used to be

Been using these for years but the quality has really gone down. Strap material is fine, but they've gone to thinner stamped ratchet mechanisms and they just don't hold up.
None have failed on me, but after anywhere from a few to a dozen uses they warp and bind. Look for curled stamped edges on the handle side pieces, those are the lousy ones. The older ones with thicker, straight pieces last me 5+ years depending on care, these I end up throwing away after one or two seasons. Some haven't even made a single trip.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great straps

I run a one man hot shot delivery company in Phoenix. I bought my first set of SmartStraps in early 2024, picked up a few more 6 months later and just bought 8 more sets when I noticed they were on sale again. The original straps were faded from the sun and starting to fray in spots, they don't last forever when you're using them every day. But they haven't ever failed or given me any reason to feel like they weren't as capable as the more expensive brands. I'll definitely buy them again.
