Q: Need to bend a 1/4 " diameter round aluminum rod into a 3/8" radius/.750" inside diameter to 180 degrees to get a "U" shape like a chain link shape. Will this bender do it?

Handy to have...

When I periodically need to bend some material, it's a nice tool to have around. It didn't cost that much and it does come with several bending dies for different radii giving nice smooth rounded curves. Like I said, I won't be using it often but it's handy to have when I need it. Time will tell how well it holds up.

I gave it a quick test to see how it works. I used a piece of 1/4” steel round stock, and made a hook on the end with the largest radius die. It worked very nicely. Nice smooth bend and minimal effort required. This was the least expensive tool, of this type, that I could find and was hoping it would work as described. I haven’t used it for any specific projects yet.
