A mobile base with 1300 pounds of capacity! The D2058A Shop Fox Heavy Duty Mobile Bases are designed to give you a stable and mobile platform upon which to mount machinery and equipment having a variety of base sizes and weights.

The heavy-duty metal casters are arranged on outriggers allowing the machine to sit as low as possible and yet be extremely stable.

Swivel casters on two corners provide excellent maneuverability. The bolt pattern on the fixed caster side allows orientation of the wheels in either of two directions.

The base can be assembled in any of eight configurations providing maximum flexibility of use. The unique two-piece retractable feet use rare earth magnets to allow the knob to turn while the foot pad is tight to the floor.

You will find these mobile bases to be far superior to any mobile base on the market in strength, adjustability and movability. This patented mobile base is the most stable on the market with outrigger-type supports.

    Wobbly

    This base was listed in the manual for the used Grizzly G3102 milling machine I just bought. I noted that some of the reviews said the wheels had too much "slop" so I went to the effort of making new axles for the wheels, and bored the wheels to fit well. I also added spacers to take up slack in the wheel housing. All of that wasn't the problem, or at least not all the problem. This base is just not heavy enough for that milling machine. The welded corners actually flex when torsion is put on the machine, causing it to wobble. The base is probably fine for a woodworking machine weighing a couple hundred pounds, but for an 800 pound milling machine... nope.

For milling machines, we recommend avoiding mobile bases entirely, as they’re too top-heavy and can affect accuracy.     Near Miss

    This is a good dolly for heavy machinery as long as you don't need all 4 casters to swivel. The front casters swivel but the rear ones do not. I find this unacceptable and I replaced all 4 casters with ones that swivel -- it's hard to get an exact match for diameter, so I needed to replace all four. This is an added expense, but in my small shop it's important to have the most versatility of movement. Itherwise, it's good purchase.

    Weak stand

    Does not feel heavy duty I have the stand for my band saw and it rocks back and forth in it would almost be better not on stand the metal bracket where Machine sets is to flimsy bery poor design

    Super Heavy-Duty Mobile Base

    I bought this for a stand for a 80g air compressor ,the compressor has 3 legs, and was prone to tipping with the wheels i had, so this unit the super heavy duty mobile base what excellent for this, had to modify the 3rd leg mounting, but no problem, now the compressor has no chance of tipping over when moved.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
