Onyx Safe is not designed to be fastened to wall studs, as it features pre-drilled bolt-down holes located exclusively on the bottom floor for ground mounting. Puncturing the back or side walls to force a wall-stud installation will destroy the safe's 45-minute fireproof insulation barrier and instantly void your lifetime warranty. For proper security, it is best to place it on a flat surface and anchor it firmly into your subfloor or concrete pad using the factory floor holes.a month agoHelpful?

- A: Hello rf007, we recommend making sure the humidity level inside the safe does not exceed 55% as that can lead to moisture accumulating which can eventually lead to rust or oxidation. Lower Quality than Expected

The safe arrived well packaged and cosmetically in good condition. They did a great job there.
However, it also arrived broken. The button to reset the combination of the safe was missing the spring, meaning it was constantly being pushed and resetting the combination. I contacted Sanctuary for support and they sent out a replacement button and instructions on how to replace it. Any handy person could do the work, but the instructions they sent were how to take the door panel off of a different safe. No instructions were supplied to complete this job. The replacement part arrived very quickly.
When you take the door panel off you get a good look at what the safe actually is. It's just thin sheet metal with what appears to be fire resistant drywall sloppily glued to the sheet metal. The locking mechanism and wiring is cheap and looks ready to fall apart. They put money in the form, and not the function.
Replacing the reset button solved the problem.
This will probably do the job if you want to keep your kids out of medications or something similar. I don't have any confidence this safe will protect your valuables beyond that.
No, I do not recommend this product.
