- A: The manufacturer has not specified a distance, typically there is no set rule on how many you can place per acre. The houses come fully assembled, adding a finish would be per preference and not necessarily needed or required to house the bats.3 years agoHelpful?

Cute bat house

I ordered this bat house because it is not too big not too small. It also has spooky looking trees on the front which makes it cute in my opinion . We mounted it at the top of a wooden 4 x 4 I think. I’ve heard it can take a couple years for bats to move in but I am hoping they like the location! We NEED bats because mosquitoes LOVE our backyard. :)

Good for the money

This is a cute house and nice for the low cost. However, the biggest flaw I found after it arrived was that it doesn't open to be cleaned. A lot of the other houses I looked at specifically said that the tops opened for easy cleaning. This one didn't specify if it did or didn't and I assumed it would. Also, the hole that is drilled into the back is impossible to get to with a drill or hammer. So hanging it was another problem. I had to add brackets to each side and then drill into the house. The house is also much smaller than I expected, but I'm not really sure how close bats like to sleep so I'm not sure if that will be a problem or not.
Still not a bad product for the very low price compared to the certified bat houses that are offered through "Bat Conservation International". I would say this is a very novice house and if you're really looking to add bats to your property, I would go with a better quality house from a certified dealer.

Well built with quality materials. I have been meaning to get one for many years so I looked up two other favorite online shopping sites and was not satisfied. For the first time ever I called Tractor Supply online and spoke with the nicest salesperson named Heather. The HQ where she works is Brentwood, TN just south of Nashville. She was great. In order to avoid shipping I ordered two of these. Installation is best in the Winter because bats already have roosts at this time of year.

It is cheapeer than building your own but thats it

It is cedar. It is an entirely 'stapled' assembly. The top is not removable and even if you wanted to, it can not be 'pulled' off without damage from the stapled assembly. Having screws would have allowed you access the inside BUT also possibly allow for easier mounting. I bought THREE and NONE had "pre-drilled mounting holes" at all. Probably for the better. However, it is DEFINITELY cheaper and easier than making your own.

Took a long route and a long time to get it

This was delayed for over a week. Poor communication from tractor supply. I had to fill out a long form online to find out what was happening to my purchase. I called and was put waited for forty minutes and found out there is no phone help after three p m pacific time.
