Q: Can this be used on plastic? A golf cart roof.
2 months ago1 Answer
- A: Great question, Sam! Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm Equipment Enamel Paint is suitable for use on bare wood and metal surfaces. To ensure full adhesion on plastic surfaces, you will need to prime the surface. We recommend priming with Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Based Primer. This primer can be topcoated after one hour. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/rust-oleum-zinsser-bulls-eye-123-white-1-gal-2001 — Rust-Oleum Product Support 152 months agoHelpful?

Q: What hardener thinner do you use
a year ago1 Answer
- A: We are happy to assist you, John! Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint can be thinned for spray application, if necessary, with mineral spirits. For brush, roller, or airless spray application, thinning is not normally required. For airless spraying, if thinning is needed, thin up to 5% by volume. For air-atomized spray, thin up to 15% by volume. Do not thin with gasoline, lacquer thinner, or turpentine. Follow these guidelines, but refer to the spray equipment manufacturer’s instructions for oil-based paint; for airless spraying, the pump ratio is 30:1, fluid pressure is 1,600-2,400 psi, fluid tip is 0.013-0.017, and filter mesh is 100. For air-atomized spraying, the fluid tip is 0.055-0.070, fluid delivery is 10-16 oz./min. (if applicable), and pressure is 25-60 psi. Adding a hardener is not recommended, as it can change the formula, and then we couldn't guarantee the performance of the paint. — Rust-Oleum Product Support 15a year agoHelpful?

Bought this to paint some miscellaneous metal parts that I am refurbishing. Just used it on a primed piece of plywood and it looks great. This is like a "Hot Rod Orange" color.

Great paint that really glows

I refurbish old tractors, and regularly use this paint. With proper priming, this paint goes on smooth with a brush, roller or spray, and stays put, not like others I have used that immediately start chipping or flaking off.
