The Royal Wing Black Oil Sunflower Wild Bird Food is a premium, high-energy seed that attracts a wide variety of colorful backyard birds throughout the year. Made with cleaned black oil sunflower seeds that are 98.5% pure or better, this nutritious bird food provides healthy fat, fiber and protein to help support wild birds during migration, nesting season and the cold winter months. Black oil sunflower seeds naturally feature thinner, more brittle hulls than striped sunflower seeds, making them easier for birds to crack and access the nutritious kernels inside. With black oil sunflower seed in your bird feeder, you're likely to see juncos, towhees, nuthatches, finches, chickadees and more stopping by for a bite. Suitable for year-round feeding, this premium seed can be offered in a variety of compatible bird feeders. Available in 6 lb., 20 lb., or 40 lb. packages of wild bird food. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Q: Can my parrot eat these

1 Answer
  • A: While parrots can eat black oil sunflower seeds, they should not be a staple in their diet. Wild bird food mixes, especially those containing black oil sunflower seeds, are generally not nutritionally balanced for parrots and can lead to health issues if overfed. Wild bird seed mixes may contain fillers, dust, debris, and other ingredients that are not suitable for parrots. While parrots can eat black oil sunflower seeds, they should be offered sparingly as part of a balanced diet, with a focus on fresh foods and formulated parrot pellets. Parrot food specialists recommend a nutritionally balanced diet for pet birds rather than wild bird seed mixes.

Since my review 17 days ago about all the junk in the seed, there are a whole bunch of new obviously fake reviews raving about the great quality AND TSC put it on sale! Don’t be fooled. I returned mine for a refund, will never buy it again.

Our cardinals and blue jays love this stuff. It is not unusual to see an occasional dove, titmouse, and smaller birds at the feeder as well. And then there are the squirrels 🐿️
