Q: What is the gap size in inches between the vertical bars and between the vertical wood slats?

  • A: The measurement is approximately 1 1/2 inches ( one and one half inches) between the bars and between the slats.

Q: Will this work if puppies jump up on the gate? Will it tip over; and will the door locks remain secure?

  • A: This gate is rated for dogs up to 33 lbs. So as long as the dog weighs no more than that, the gate will still work and not tip over.

Needed this to contain our pet to a area. Most are only forty inches. This is nice because it is free standing. The only downside is when my dog gets bigger he will be able to knock it over. So, I will have to permanently fasten it.
