I have a pitbull and large hound, and I've always tried to keep them away from rawhide. A friend began working for Tractor Supply, and gave them these kabob rawhide treats whenever they ran to visit his house, and they grew to love them as a special treat. He ran out of them, and they were not stocked in the local store (or at least rarely there when I visited for over 6 mos), and they've never had the same reaction to rawhide substitutes. Those substitutes, even those for tough chewers, last usually under 5 minutes. They were both SO excited to get these treats back, even when limited to a weekly treat. They're tougher than the substitutes and best bang for my buck.
