RedStone Wood Fuel, Pack of 6, ECOBRICK is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 81.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good substitute for cordwood Have been using these for several years in standard fireplace and very happy with them. Start with 6 bricks with kindling, add just a couple more for a full evening fire. Very little ash. Much cleaner and less space so keep them in the garage. Miss the sound and smell of real firewood but theses do well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these! I've just started using these, have used maybe five 3-block packs? So far I love them! They seem to last a lot longer than the seasoned firewood I've been using. They're also quiet and they burn just as hot as the firewood I've had. I leave my woodstove damper wide open for most of the heating. I close the damper a bit once there's there a good flame showing. I usually keep the door to my woodstove closed when starting the woodstove with these fuel blocks. When I have a good flame going I open the door and put the screen in. The only negative thing I'd say about these Redstone fuel blocks is you need a good amount of kindling or fire-starting material if using these fuel blocks with a cold wood stove or cold fireplace. If using a fireplace I'd say it would help to have a grate to put kindling or fire-starting material under.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot fire fast Excellent supplement for cord wood in my wood stove, which heats the whole house. Use a brick in the morning with kindling to get fire started and hot quickly. These bricks need air to get going, will not create much heat unless supplemented with wood/kindling when lighting fire from scratch. Use two at night for a slow burn during very cold nights.

What is the best way to lay the bricks to start a fire

Asked by: Toots75
Step 1: Place two Bricks parallel, roughly an inch apart. Step 2: Place a firestarter between the bricks. Step 3: Place two more Bricks across thetop, leaving a small gap between the two top bricks and carefully light the firestarter. These are an extremely dry, 100% hardwood product. For home heating, use only in a well maintained stove or fireplace and control air flow to prevent overheating and extend burn times. These will expand slightly when burning. Do not pack too closely to glass or top. DO NOT OVERFILL! Store only in a dry environment.

Can this product be used in a wood-burning furnace

Asked by: Nomercy733
Yes, Redstone Wood Fuel can be used in any similar application as typical cordwood firewood. They have no added resins, waxes, or other binders - only hardwood fibers and are more dry and will generally burn hotter due to their density and dryness.

How are they packaged, & wrapped? Are they individually shrink wrapped to stay dry, or are they packed loose in a box?

Asked by: UglyBoy55
These are shrink wrapped in packages of 6.

How long is the burn time on these bricks.

Asked by: Pjg69

These wood bricks which are rated 9,000 - 14,000 btu/lb look very similar to the Redstone 3-pack wood bricks which are rated 8,800 btu/lb. Why are these two products rated so much different when it seems they are very similar except for the brick size?

Asked by: Wilumblack
The 6-pack bricks are 9,000-14,000BTUs for EACH brick. The 3-pack is listed as 8,800BTUs per pound.

Can these bricks be cut and have the same effect. They burn but it cuts the time on burning?

Asked by: Sapsucker

What is the weight of each package?

Asked by: LennyJCash
The net weight of this product is 20 lbs.

Can you cut these bricks in half? I have a small wood burning stove and just started, only one brick fits in; 10"X5"X4" blocks. Do they come any smaller?

Asked by: BrianR
They do not come any smaller. Cutting the brick will not change the functionality except the cut side might cause them the burn a little faster.
