It uses quartz bulbs that work like the sun to reflect intense heat paired with a powerful fan. There are 2 heat settings to choose from: 750W and 1,500W. Please check the following before seeking repair of services. 1, Check if there are no objects within 3.28 ft.(1 m) of the perimeter of heater. 2, Check if the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet and if the electricity to the main fuse is working. 3, Try to press the power button, if the heater does not turn on, clear any obstructions from front and rear of heater that may have caused internal overheating. To restart to the heater, unplug it to cool for 5-15 minutes, then plug in again. Make sure the obstruction has been removed before restarting.3 years agoHelpful?

Great heater

My wife bought two of these heaters eight, YES EIGHT! years ago and they are the best heaters we own. They still work as well as the day we bought them. We own smaller 1500 watt heaters but do not heat as well as this one does. I cant believe they still make this heater. I would recommend this heater to anybody that wants to heat a single room. What a great buy!

Cheap plastic

I didnt even manage to get the heater out of the box before it broke. I used the built-in handle to pull it out and the plastic broke apart including the dials and cables. It wasnt a tight fit in the box either.

Discounted item that still worked great!

Found this gem on a random search for a capacitor. Sadly there were no capacitors but seen this marked "5$ One Element Broken" and thought to myself "Im sure it's worth 5$& I bet it's something silly." Bought it, brought it back to the cabin& plugged it in. Low heat kicked on fine, but no high heat. Took it apart&realized it must've been dropped or knocked over because one of the wires popped off the 2nd Element. Crimped the connector back on& sure enough high heat kicked on. I'll call that a win any time. Bonus is, comes in great when the woman wants a little more heat but it's not cold enough to crank the woodstove up. She's happy. I'm happy. My pockets happy. FTW!
With that said, I highly don't recommend playing with electrical devices IF you have no clue as to what you're doing. AND EVEN MORE SO IF THEY'RE PLUGGED IN! Lol. However, you are welcome to use your Freedom HOWEVER YOU WISH TO FREEDOM YOUR FREEDOMS!
