Q: How is this installed/mounted for cattle to use?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! A good rule of thumb with the 10 ft Cattle Rub, is to hang it parallel to the ground at round 5 ft height and then as the cattle get used to it, you can lower it down, so it sags to around 4 ft height.

I have used rubs for insulators at the bottom of my 10' slide barn doors in the winter. Works great for keeping snow and wind out.

Poor Quality

I have been using these cattle rubs for years for my cattle and have seen the quality diminish each year. Typically the rub outer covering developed holes and fell apart first, but now the attachments are so weak they break first. These might be OK for small animals, but not for large animals, such as cattle. The one I bought this spring didn't last one season. Google DIY Cattle Rubs and build one yourself that will last a very long time and for less costs.

Great for reducing flies.

Works great. I've noticed a significant decrease is flies when I use this back rub. I placed it in front of their feeder, so they have to go under it to get to their 'snacks'.
