Ensure your martin colony is fantastically placed and displayed using the Better Engineered Steel Telescoping Martin House Pole and Adapter by Prime Retreat. This soundly designed, 3 section pole creates a perfect support for your existing bird or bat house, thanks to its robust steel body, unique locking system, and plastic ground sleeve. When fully extended, the pole reaches 15' tall, and the included adapter makes it perfect for installing into and through select martin homes. This 36" long section and included self tapping screws secure this support inside the hollow, topmost pole piece readily, and allow it to slide upwards into your existing bird shelter. Its telescoping design allows you to raise and lower it in moments for the utmost convenience. Each section decreases in size from the one below it, and a small flared edge at the top of each piece snugly accommodates the included locks. Slide the shaft of one of these locks into this channel, and push its curved end with black cap flush against the pole to keep each pole element extended. Pull this same curved end of the key outward toward you to loosen and lower the unit for maintenance or a different display height. Install the included, 15" long, plastic ground sleeve in soil and surround it with concrete, and slide the largest diameter, lowest pole section into it for stability. This not only anchors the assembly but also allows you to remove the pole for seasonal maintenance. The strong steel design ensures a long life for the pole, and its gray finish melds with the background. Wonderfully support your existing bat or martin house season after season on this B.E.S.T. Q: how do u secure pole in the ground?

  • A: Hi Neighbor- Step-by-Step Installation Guide Prepare the Ground Sleeve: Dig a hole (approx. 10" x 24") and place the 15" plastic ground sleeve inside. Pour concrete around the sleeve, keeping it about 1/2" below the top to avoid getting concrete inside. Ensure it is level and stable, and let the concrete cure. Assemble the Pole Sections: Separate the three telescoping sections. Install a thumb screw and T-nut in the hole about 1" from the end of the largest (bottom) section. Insert the middle section into the base section, tightening the thumb screw to hold it. Insert the top section (smallest) into the middle section and tighten its thumb screw. Attach the Adapter and House: Use the included adapter to attach your Martin house to the top section. Secure the house to the pole using the provided bolt and nylon locknut. Finalize Installation: Place the entire assembled pole into the, now set, ground sleeve. The pole can be removed for seasonal maintenance.

    Purple Martin house pole

    Works really well with the Beat Purple Martin house, which has a round center that accepts the pole. There are other mating house poles but they usually are triangular poles and they do not fit all purple Martin houses. I left one state off the review because my order did not come with all the morning items… not sure if they were lost in shipping, but I purchased the necessary hardware to lock the pole inside of the Martin house.

    Pole is poorly finish so parts don't nest properly. Requires lot of file work to assemble. Locking pieces do not always hold so poles slide down. When raised a lot give in joints.

    Birdhouse Pole

    The pole has external keys for its telescoping. It seems they may be easy to get lost not actually being attached. There is nothing to keep each section from falling down inside the larger section below. since three of the pieces are the same length. This seems problematic! These in my opinion are problems with this pole. I do like the fact it is fifteen feet tall.
