Q: Is this cage meant for a pair? We are considering gerbils, which do best in pairs so we want to be sure to get a cage large enough for both.

- A: You must keep at least two gerbils together, so they don’t get lonely. So the minimum gerbil cage size is 20 gallons for a pair of gerbils. There should be at least 15 x 30 inches of floor space for a pair of gerbils. But floor space isn’t as valuable as vertical space. The gerbilarium should be deep enough to hold at least 6-7 inches of substrate for them to dig. Please refer to this website - https://www.gerbilwelfare.com/how-big-can-gerbils-get/. I love the cage you are referring to but I believe it is too small for growing gerbils. It is perfect for a mouse, or two.5 years agoHelpful?

it looks cute and nice, i am happy there is room, but for most dwarf or even regular hamsters, have really small feet, the hamster wheel has holes witch could end up with broken legs, feet, and could make them have to run slower or it would get their feet and legs stuck! also the hamsters almost escaped.
