  • A: Hi Neighbor! No, you do not need to provide a separate mineral block if you are feeding the Prairie Pride Goat Protein Pail, as it is designed as a complete, free-choice protein, vitamin, and mineral supplement. Q: Is it ok to give additional supplements to the goat(s) while still giving them this pail? Eg. I would like to give them copper and/or selenium, but I see this has it in it. Just want to make sure I don't give them more then they need.

  • A: No. Feed continuously with plentiful sources of good quality hay and forage, as well as clean fresh water. Remove all other sources of salt and minerals. Provide at least 1 pail per 5-10 head of goats. Place pails at least 10 ft. apart. Locate pails where goats congregate.

Q: How do I get my goats to lick this 🤔

1 Answer
  • A: Usually the animals just go to the supplement pail because of the molasses in the supplement. But, if they do not, try putting some grain or feed or a little bit of salt on the surface of the supplement. That will encourage them to lick on the surface.
