Great Pet FEncing

I have recommended this fencing system to everyone I know with dogs! We have 3 dogs and 40 acres, but our house sits near a main road.
The initial cost and follow up for batteries/lost collar is still less expensive than conventional fencing. We have had the collars for 3 years and are now in need of replacing one of the collars because one of the mischief makers realizes that the signal has become intermittent!
You CAN tell when the signal is getting weak due to old batteries or malfunctioning collar because your dog will start to go a little farther from the boundary! Our largest dog (80lbs) is afraid of the "beep" so he instantly stops at the beginning of the boundary!!
I love the freedom that it gives the dogs and there isn't any digging to get out of confinement. They are safe and not near the road. We have about a 2 1/2 acre yard around the house. We bought 2 boxes so that there would be a larger perimeter for the dogs. It was just the right size.
This is truly a product worth testing!

Warning about the prongs

Caution about the prongs on the wireless replacement collar!! I am pleased with the wireless system, but lost the original collar. I bought a replacement collar and there is no warning on the package that it is not for long haired dogs or that you must purchase a seperate accessory kit for long haired dogs. The manual says to call customer service for a long prong to use with long haired pets. Customer service wanted to charge me for the kit. First, the replacement collar is expensive enough that it should come with both short and long prongs. Second, the packaging should state an additional prong purchase is necessary for long haired dogs, or PetSafe should send you the long prongs free of charge. Beware!

Don’t waste your money

Pros-
Range: decent
Waterproof: yes, can handle a rainforest climate.
Cons-
Pretty much everything else
System: randomly goes down with no warning. There is no way to remotely monitor the device or collars. Would be helpful is there was an app to give warnings to allow smooth management.
Collars: will not stay on at ALL. tried so many things to get the collar to stay on and there is no other type of fasteners (ex: clip, buckle, etc…)
Correction: inconsistent. Varies too much to be effective.
Battery: another factor that varies too much. Lasts 1-3 months is a significant amount. Batteries are relatively affordable but buying every month versus every few months makes a considerable difference.
Overall just not worth it. It had
caused more problems than it’s solved. We have high prey drive hunting dogs and this is meant to be a safer alternative to keeping them tied up when they are unable be supervised or working. The shoddy collar is the most frustrating part.
No, I do not recommend this product.

It's extremely unusual to have difficulty with collars staying on while they are fit as intended and undamaged, as the quick snap buckles on these collars snaps securely together. Though we do not have an alternative buckle available for these collars, it is worth mentioning that any collar strap can be used if you punch holes in the collar strap of your choice. If using a nylon collar, we would recommend burning the edges of the holes with a lighter or similar flame to help prevent fraying.
Additionally, it is vital to mention that none of our training systems should ever be used while a dog is unmonitored, as they are not a physical barrier. Though many dogs will respect their boundaries after going through the training process, for safety we do recommend a family member always be nearby to be able to check on them while they are enjoying their yard during the 8-12 hours per day they can wear the collar. We're so sorry for any misunderstanding.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has come in handy we do have a gate but there a some small gaps in it and we have a chihuahua who is small enough to fit through these gaps. We’ve set up the device and he only wears the collar when he’s outside (which is not often) and it works good it’s kept him from escaping.

I bought the pet safe wireless unit put a wireless containment system 90’ around my house from my unit. i carried the collar
when it beeped I stuck a flag in my yard until i had a boundary. around my house , I
the n put the collar on my dog and walked her towards the flags i left the flags in for two weeks after pulling the flag off she has never
crossed the boundary. boundary can be set between 30 an 60’ . been two year and will
will never go cross even with collar off. I highly
recommended for any dog, my dog is high str
very. active. Don’t waste your money to dig to digging your yard. check out this unity on you tube.
