Kitty litter maintenance attendant (i.e. son) wanted a long handled scooper. Found this one at a quazi reasonable price. Unfortunately, the cat kicks litter everywhere, even in a covered box. To minimize the amount of litter getting scratched out to the floor, we have reduced the kitty litter level in the box. This cat is large and pees on the edges of the box. This liquid output isn't formed into nice little pucks on the surface of the litter or gently buried in inches of clean litter. It is often partially stuck on the sides or bottom of the box. The grooved edge of this scooper does not handle that well. Instead of gently sliding under the lump, the grooved edges break up the clump which results in pee soaked loose litter which is extremely hard to remove. I think this scoop would do well for cats who pee in the middle of a box filled with an optimum amount of litter and who covers it gently. My cat is not one of those. It might be a good scooper under other circumstances, but not ours.

I had bought a telescoping handle scooper recently from another store for my rabbit's litterbox, but it wasn't strong enough to stay locked at full length while getting the corners of the litterbox. Also, the angle of the scooper made it difficult to use. I found this tool in my local TSC Store, and it is EXCELLENT! It is plenty long enough, very sturdy, the scooper is at just the right angle, and the price is great!

I bought one of these like 15 years ago. It has finally broken. I have 4 cats and this scooper stands the test of time and clumps!!! Ordering another one for the next 15 years.
