The Permatex Water Pump and Thermostat RTV Silicone Gasket Maker is a noncorrosive, sensor-safe RTV silicone gasket material formulated specifically for water pumps and thermostat housings. The RTV gasket maker offers the highest water-glycol resistance available in an RTV silicone and provides great adhesion. This can be used as a gasket maker or dressing.

- A: Hi James. DIRECTIONS FOR USE For assembly as a form-in-place gasket 1. Remove all previous material from mating surfaces. Permatex Gasket Remover is recommended for most materials, not for plastics or painted surfaces. 2. For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent, such as Permatex Brake and Parts Cleaner. 3. Remove cap and puncture tube seal. 4. Apply a continuous and even bead of silicone (approximately 1/8” in diameter) to one surface, first tracing the internal areas of the gasket configuration, then all surrounding bolt holes as shown below: 5. Assemble parts immediately while silicone is still wet. 6. Secure or tighten to recommended torque specifications. Re-torque will not be necessary after the product has cured.2 years agoHelpful?

- A: Hi, Here is what we received from our vendor- "Item 22071 is not recommended for use with potable (drinking) water applications. It is not an NSF certified product"2 years agoHelpful?
