Q: 7 gal. Tea Olive trees. I live at the dividing line between zones 7&8, we do sometimes get a few days below 10 F. If in the fall I put a lot of extra mulch around the base of the plant and lightly drape the top on the bad days could it live here?

- A: Hi Toby, thank you for your interest in our Tea Olives. We cannot guarantee a winter survival that is out of zone but it is certainly warranted to try! Mulching and covering on the coldest nights are your best options. Additionally, we recommend planting in an area with full sun at least 6-8 hours a day. That should do the trick!4 years agoHelpful?

- A: Sweet tea olive. Blooms when it’s warm. Amazing fragrance. Hard to find because it’s considered old fashion. Stays green year round above 30 degrees. Mine didn’t like weird below zero weather but It survived.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: We live in Columbia, SC. If we receive the plant now (February), is it still too cold/soon to plant it in the garden? I'm guessing we'll have one more month of variable weather (mostly warm'ish, a few very cold nights).

I love these plants. I was thrilled to find them at Tractor Supply. They shipped out quickly and arrived perfect. They were boxed with a lot of care and I was so pleased with the condition they arrived in. I have only had them for a week, but they are doing great!
