motor cuts out and then have to wait 5-10min
9 years ago
I use to think the battery was dying within 5-10min of use. It's not, I've metered battery right after it would die. Must be inline re-settable fuse that cuts off power to motor, or overheat safety feature of motor. So kids can ride 5-10min, then wait 5-10min for cooldown. Then they get back on it and fine again. This is driving in standard backyard grass with maybe a 2foot slope over 100feet(nothing extreme). On flat pavement, have not had an issue though, but turning is useless on hard surfaces, lol. Need to tear apart and check this fuse thing. You can hear the motor straining bad when in grass or any type of slope, it slows to a crawl. No would not buy again. Not meant for grass driving. My Nephew has same one with same exact problems, so not just a one off issue. Much better choices out there.

Not a bad ride
Purchased this for my 3 year old son. Directions were not the best but unless you can burn water from not following directions you'll be OK. Seems to be made well enough to do the intended purpose. Can't comment on battery life as my son is terrified of it for some reason. It only has a single forward speed but I'm not too worried about my 3 year old learning how to back a trailer yet, my oldest didn't learn until he was 12 (farm kids haha). Biggest complaint is having to unscrew the hood and pry it off to get access to the battery in order to charge. Not sure how well it will hold up over repeated chargings. If not for the battery issue I would have given 5 stars.
Yes, I recommend this product.
