A 9 ft. 8 in. kayak that folds down to an unbelievably compact box. At 20 lbs. this origami kayak weighs half of a traditional kayak. It's compact enough to store in your car trunk (two even), or anywhere else. It tracks and handles far better than inflatable kayaks. With the Oru Pack, you can even check it on a plane or hike it anywhere. It's stable, but also nimble and playful. It's intended for use in calm water - think mirror-smooth lakes, rivers, and streams. Its large, open cockpit is perfect for paddles with a dog or small child - perfect for first-time paddlers and beginners, but great for anyone who wants a boat on the go.

Best Oru size

The Inlet is better than my Beach, proportionally to my size 5’4". I’m able to carry it as one person and it fits in my backseat as well as the trunk of my SUV with a lot of room for other items. I think once used a few times, it’ll conform to its proper shape folded but out of the box it was a little wonky.

Three Orus

We have two inlets and one beach. Love all three, take the inlets camping and use the beach for open water swimming support.

easy to use

I have had this kayak for about a week now and I have used it five times already. this kayak is so easy to use, easy to carry, easy to get in and out of. I can grab the kayak, dry bag , paddle, water bottle and life jacket in one trip from car to the water. no going back and forth to carry everything or having to use a dolly. I have been going to work with the kayak in the car and after I get off work hit the water in 10 minutes and kayak for a few hours. Love this kayak. I have a perception tandem cove, and this kayak is more comfortable than that one and much more easier to handle being that it is way lighter and doesn't have to go on top of the car. after I have this one for a while and giving it a good year of kayaking, I plan to get the tandem "haven". great job on this kayak. You should think about making a small folding sailboat. You could use leeboards so you wouldn't have to have a dagger board or centerboard trunk. no holes in the bottom.

We love our Oru Kayak!

I bought my husband the black Inlet kayak and got the white one for myself. We took them out for the first time last weekend, and it was smooth sailing! They’re incredibly lightweight, easy to carry, and glide beautifully on the water—we had such a great time. After about an hour, the seats did start to feel a bit uncomfortable, so I’ll be ordering the gel seat upgrades soon. Setup and takedown were a bit of a challenge at first (it took us about 40 minutes to get both kayaks ready), but now that we know the process, I’m sure it’ll be much quicker next time.
