I moved up to this pit from a Brazos loaded I bought a couple of years ago. Ordering and delivery went very well. Cost was $4200 total, tax and delivery to my driveway. My wife and I were able to handle the 820 pound pit move into the back yard with no issues. I have a couple of issues that I had to deal with, The casters are junk. They did the job of moving the pit but the slack in the casters showed up when opening and closing the cook chamber door. I removed them and set the pit on blocks to a height that fits me perfectly. The other issue was the vent on the firebox needed adjustment. After reaching cooking temperature it was very hard to adjust the air flow. I ground off the tack welds on the four nuts and set the clearance of the slide plate. As far as the rest of the pit goes I couldn't be happier with the quality workmanship shown in the finished product. 100% excellent welds, outside finish and the design of the door that handles the weight with minimum effort required. The wood consumption was 40% less than my old pit. Very efficient and the small fire really does a great job. Maintaining constant temperature is easy, left to right temp difference was 10 degrees or less for most of my first cook. The design and air flow of this pit are outstanding. The 6 ribs that I cooked came out excellent with a smoke profile that I never achieved with my old pit. The totally insulated pit increases the amount of time that I will be using it to all year long. Don't hesitate to invest in one of these pits.
