Doesn't help shade

This seemed like a great idea - a half umbrella and I wanted to use it to help provide shade for my dogs outside my sunroom area. However, the pole is not adjustable so you can't lower it enough to help to create the shade. It also tips over really easy even though I bought the half round base which is very heavy so you would think it would work - but it doesn't. I do like the creamy beige color. And the material is very nice but just doesn't seem like it will help with shade for anything. I have it at the end of my tool shed more for looks than anything.... oh well.
No, I do not recommend this product.
