Q: Im looking for a otc pain reliever for my GSD. He doesnt do well on meds from vet. Aspirin is not safe for dogs...what makes this safe for them? Does it cause issue with stomach or kidneys? Any info would be greatly appreciated

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "Our Nutri-Vet Aspirin is intended to provide temporary relief of pain and inflammation associated with arthritis and joint problems in dogs. Nutri-Vet Aspirin should always be used in conjunction with a veterinarian and should not be used for more than 3 days in a row. If a 3-day course does not provide the adequate pain relief your pet needs, please reach back out to your veterinarian so they are able to determine the next course of action. Furthermore, make sure you are using the appropriate version for your size of dog, and read the label instructions in full before providing Nutri-Vet Aspirin to your dog."

Q: Is this aspirin the same as human aspirin?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, No. Human aspirin has a coating on it that helps to protect the human stomach from irritation. Your dog cannot digest this coating, so the medication may not provide the desired effects

Awesome product

I buy this for my German shepherd. She is 13 and has arthritic hips. I can see the difference in her movement with in hours upon taking this. Recommended dosage is three for her but two seems to do the trick. Just try to use it when it is feeding times as like humans dogs can react to having a stomach upset from this too.

Warning - Please Read

My 10 yr old dog hurt her leg so I sent my daughter to the store to pick up a different brand of medicine that was aspirin free. I knew not to give a dog aspirin. Tractor supply was out of that medicine so I took a chance on the dog aspirin. I thought it was made for dogs and would be safer. I gave her one tablet and it did help but she started puking blood and wouldn’t stop. We took her to the Urgent Care vet and they said it was the aspirin. I will never make this mistake again. Save yourself a possible vet visit and find something that is aspirin free.

Don’t do it

This was actually a mess. I was told it wasn’t available and then it delivered. I gave it to my dog. I ended up taking him to the vet. His liver enzymes were so high, they put him down. Don’t give your dog aspirin of any kind

No, I do not recommend this product.
