Not for use in roll away nest boxes

I got these to try out in my roll away nest boxes. I have several roll away boxes from different manufacturers. And while the hens seemed to like these pads. They prevented the eggs from rolling down into the collection bin in all of them. I pulled the pads out and gave them to a friend who uses standard next boxes without the roll away collection and she loves them. So, if you aren't trying to use them in roll away nest boxes they work great.

So much better than shavings

I used shavings for years. Then one day I decided to try nest pads. They are so easy to use and the hens love them, Just pop one in the nest box and the hen does the rest. They 'fluff it up' creating their little nest spot. All without kicking so much shavings that in time so little is left that it becomes easier for the eggs to break or become soiled. With these pads, I do not have that issue. Instead of the constant refilling the shavings level, I just pop old one out and pop a new one in approximately every three weeks for active nest boxes and about every two months for the less popular boxes.
