Q&As

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Q: How can this be organic with Folic Acid (a synthetic man made ingredient) added to it which is toxic to me and my family?

1 Answer
  • Nature's Best Org. Feeds®
A: Hi Luke, Thanks for reaching out about our organic Hog & Sow Pellets! We confirmed with our team of nutrition experts on your inquiry. Folate (vitamin B9) occurs naturally in leafy greens, and Folic Acid is the synthetically-produced version of the vitamin. Because the animals require that B9 vitamin as part of an ideal diet, it is permitted by the folks at USDA Organic as a safe and beneficial addition to organic hog feed. We are sorry to hear that you and your family are unable to consume anything containing Folic Acid. We hope you are able to find an organic swine feed that does not include it. We appreciate your communication on this matter!

Q: If fed as a sole ration, how long would this last a single adult pig? Trying to budget my feed.

1 Answer
  • A: That would depend on the amount of feed you would need to maintain the desired weight of the pig. If you are supplying five pounds of feed a day, it would last 400 days.

Q: how many bushels does this equal

1 Answer
  • Nature's Best Org. Feeds®
A: Hello there! This is kind of hard to answer, because a bushel is a volume measurement. Picture a bushel basket. A bushel basket of corn is approximately 56 lbs. A bushel basket of wheat is approximately 60 lbs. A bushel of oats is 32 lbs. We would need to make this feed and then fill up a bushel basket with the feed and weigh it to answer your question - but we can say that it is 2,000 lb. of feed (one ton).

Inconsistent Product

This is the 3rd or 4th time ordering this product; it's fine for my pigs but sometimes there are green pieces some times there are none, the green bits are not mixed in and if you're not careful too much of that will make your pigs sick so you will need to mix it before you serve it. This time it didn't have any of the green stuff in it so I'm not sure if it was forgotten of if its just a filler that is not necessary. In order to save some money on shipping I ordered in in store using my TSC Card; do they do this so they don't have to give you the 5% in rewards since you aren't ordering from your account?
