Bought this hook to use on a cast iron 45lb ceiling fan. I throughly look for the strongest hook without any risk factors at all. After all, this is a heavy ceiling fan and could seriously hurt someone if the hook failed. Bought the hook and decided to read the label before using it. Come to find out it states on the label “Do not use to hang loads, lift loads, or support weights of persons or items.” Huh?? So what am I supposed to do with the hook, just look at it? The main purpose of 220lb rated hook is to hold items in the first place. Waste of money, not taking a risk with a hook that claims in the label that it “cannot support the weight of an item” even though it’s rated for 220lb. Waste of money. I don’t care how sturdy the hook looks, if the label claims it can’t do something, i’m not taking a risk with something like that.
