Rated 5 out of 5 by from National hardware exterior barn box track We just purchased new track & sliding door hardware for our barn. The original T111 was replaced with cypress board & batten siding so we wanted new hardware to go along with the new siding. This track seems identical to the old track. The old track was Stanley brand purchased & installed in 1986. New track & hardware was just installed 6 days ago so we don’t know how long it will stay looking pretty. The old track had some rust & had been painted in places but was fully functional. It had been uncovered, out in the elements for 34 years. We do plan to cover the new track with a stainless steel, removable cover to shield it from the weather. My husband is a sheet metal mechanic so is custom making this cover

What is the recommended spacing for hangers for this rail to achieve the 450 lb rating? And what is the reduced rating at other hanger spacing. For example if I have a 200# door can I use fewer hangers is my question at what would be the required spacing

Asked by: RD08353
Spacing is 24" on center. That means from the center of the rail: brackets are placed every 24" to the left and to the right. Less brackets mounted for lighter doors is not recommended.
