- A: Thank you for your question. The Extra-Wide Windsor Arch Pet Gate is 72" and would not fit your space of 74". If adaptations are made for it to fit, please know that the gate must be attached to a solid surface. Additionally, the width of the space between the last vertical bar and the mounting surface should not be increased. Widening that space could increase the risk of a child or pet becoming lodged in the area. To fit a space wider than 72", we recommend using the extension (model 4938) that is intended for this gate. It adds an additional 15 inches but the gate can be set at an angle to accommodate your space of 74".4 years agoHelpful?

Q: We have a baseboard where the bottom mounts would be and a wall where the top mounts would be. Can the mounts be adjusted to have the top ones be at a slightly broader measurement than the bottom ones?

Q: The bottom mounts where we need the gate would have a baseboard. It is not flat--it has a bit of a dip in its style (not huge but not flush). Would the mounts work on the baseboard and hold tight?

- A: Thank you for asking us this question. The mounting surface for the Extra-Wide Windsor Arch Petgate does need to be flat, as the backside of the wall mount attachments is also flat. Having an uneven surface may not allow the wall mount to attach properly and securely.5 years agoHelpful?

This gateway is great. Sets up real easy. The adjustment for base trim works great. Just make sure both sides are plumb (straight up and down). The latch and hold open on the gate work well also. I’d recommend this to friends and family.

I am using this gate to keep my dog on my back deck. I will bring it inside for the winter. It isn’t recommended for outside but options were so limited for 72” outside gates. This one is perfect. Very well built and closes and latches in its own. Due to the deck application, my “walls” (really the railing supports 4x4 pressure treated) were not square. The multiple fine tuning adjustment options remedied that and my gate closes great. Setup even with this application was less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend.
