This Mr. Heater 80,000 BTU Big Maxx Natural Gas Unit Heater is the way to go. The natural gas heater uses a built-in electric high-velocity fan to pull cool air into the rear of the unit, across a heat exchanger, then forcing warm air into the surrounding areas. These natural gas unit heaters only require 115V AC power and can be vented vertically or horizontally (please check local codes and restrictions). With a mounting clearance of only 1 in., supplied brackets, external access to power and thermostat connections, installation is a cinch. With the Durable Spark ignition and robust factory-standard self-diagnostic control module, we can offer a 3-year factory warranty on all parts and burners and a 10-year warranty on any defects in the heat exchanger. This heater offers the operating versatility and safety that you have come to expect from Mr. Heater.

Runs non stop compared to Reznor

I like the ease of installation however the Reznor I replaced that was supposed to be of equal BTU that lasted 20 years ran for a few minutes and entire 40x40 garage with 18ft ceilings and is insulated with R34 on the inside walls plus drywall and 8x12x1” foil faced on the outside under the siding would be warm. 20ft garage door opens closes in minus 10 Reznor ran for few minutes instant 60”F. This heater runs NON STOP to keep same space at 60. It might shut off for ten minutes then starts up again. The Reznor with 3 guys wrenching and sweating and breathing would run 4 times every 3-4 hours. Big Max runs NON STOP. have had multiple friends ask me if because it’s mounted horizontal to ceiling if that’s the problem. Reznor was mounted vertical closer to floor. Might change way it’s mounted n summer. Vents are set to blow down as much as they can be. Have even thought of making a cover so it blows downward more.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor output compared to my old one.

Pretty disappointed honestly. I removed an older unit that was rated at 60,000btu and installed this one of 80,000btu thinking it would put out more heat... the new one doesn't work anywhere close to as well as the older "smaller" one when it worked!! It was dented (cosmetic) when received also. Otherwise it functions ok
No, I do not recommend this product.
