Rusty even with regular cleanings after a bit

Never had a Hummingbird feeder that got so rusty. I had a straw scrubber I used to always clean the metal rings on the feeder thoroughly. Even cleaning and refilling it once a week it just started to get rustier each time. It made the nectar smell rusty. It's just really terrible. Even with regular cleanings this feeder is not worth the purchase at all.

Attractive on the shelf, and the hummingbirds loved it for about a month before it started rusting. They stopped feeding from it and I had to throw it away. Absolute garbage, worst quality feeder I’ve come across.
