After my Weber Genesis rusted out in less than 8 years I decided to go in a different direction. So far the Monument seems to be okay. The burners are much closer to the grates and the clearance between the grates and the top of the hood than what I was used to. It’s easier to burn food and it may not be possible to cook a standing beer can chicken, we’ll see. On the plus side the burners can really sear and put a crust on steaks and burgers.
I cook outside all winter so we’ll see how things go. (I have a cover so it is protected from rain and the coming snows. I suspect the thinner gauge hood will not hold heat as well in cold weather but again, we’ll see.
