Dry time

I have tried several layers. When I put on a thin layer it seems to start setting up and or drying. Not allowing to lay down or fill in. Leaving brush marks, scratches and other imperfections (even orange peel). When I put on a heavier layer it also starts to set up or dry and any over loaded area, brush marks and other imperfections starts to dry or set up and can't be corrected.  I have already put one full can on my 6" X 10ft hard wood board that I will probably not be able to correct and or use.  I have used this product before you claimed it would "dry to touch in 30 minutes" or "2 hours to recoat."  This product seems to dry or start setting up to fast and does not allow to fill in or lay down flat before drying!  I am looking for a furniture like finish with no imperfections.  I have been able to accomplish this with this product before the quick drying capability.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Clear Brushing Lacquer. This product does set up quicker than a urethane or other clear coats. Keeping a wet edge while applying will help prevent brush marks on the surface. If you would like to discuss your review further, please contact us directly at 1-800-523-9299 or [email protected]. Lacquer application

I’m having a really difficult time with this lacquer. Seems to go on tacky and leaves streaks and brush marks? This inconcistency leaves an “orange peel” effect every time. I don't believe it was from the stain. After the second coat completely dried, it was still reacting this way. Could not have been caused by the stain.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for your review of the Clear Brushing Lacquer. When you apply a new coat of the product, it should rewet the previous coat and result in a smooth finish. If you are overworking the product or applying too much, it can cause issues in the finish. If you have further questions, please contact us directly at 1-800-523-9299 or [email protected]. Garbage

Absolutely horrible!!!! I will never use again. Refinishing a desk top and had been using the spray can on other items. I wanted a better finish so I tried the brushable lacquer. It tacks up before you can even brush it out leaving behind lots of brush marks and high spots. Now I have to sand this entire desktop down just to get rid of the horrible brush marks and uneven coating. Worst product I've ever used.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Clear Brushing Lacquer. We apologize you had an issue with the results on your project. Since this product is a lacquer, the previous coat will be rewet when the next one is applied. You can apply a new coat and it should fix any imperfections in the previous coat. If you would like to discuss your review further, please contact us directly at 1-800-523-9299 or [email protected]. Sincerely, L.T., Digital Care Team

Didn’t level or cure

Sealed with SealCoat sanded smooth. Sprayed 3 coats is minwax lacquer waiting 4 or more hours between coats. Left a rough surface. Tried light sanding to smooth surface. Applied brushing lacquer using natural bristle brush. Brushing lacquer didn’t go on smoothly appearing to eat into the existing lacquer. Finish did not level at all, leaving severe brush marks. Minwax rep told me that I couldn’t recoat the sprayed lacquer with polyurethane and to use brushing lacquer. Temp in mid 60’s. Sanding off finish 3 days after application found lots of finish peeling off

No, I do not recommend this product.
