Quality simplex unit. No frills but good workmanship. I normally do not need to use repeaters since most communications I work with are nearby handhelds. The only thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars is I wish Channels 15-22 could be 15 watts.

I have 4 105s on the farm mounted in equipment. Really like the quick access to the weather channel. We are in very flat country so the range is great. Have been able to talk across the entire farm. Range of about 10 miles. Thinking about buying a radio for everything on the farm. Only advice I’d give is if you’re not going to get an external speaker, make sure the radios mounted next to your head and right at you ear cause they can be hard to hear sometimes.

Only 22 channels leaving the unit limited in capability in high traffic areas unfortunately. Hand held units go to 34 witch what I thought I was purchasing, my fault but don’t have use for the unit in question.

MXT105 has good transmit power and audio receiving.
