The Mibro High Speed Steel Drill Bit is designed for general-purpose drilling in wood, wood composites, plastic and softer metals such as aluminum and copper. Made from quality high-speed steel, this drill bit is well suited for DIY projects, household repairs and a variety of everyday drilling applications. The 135° split point tip helps reduce bit walking and can eliminate the need for a center punch in many applications. Drill bits 3/16 in. and larger feature three flats on the shank for a secure grip in the drill chuck, while bits larger than 3/8 in. feature reduced shanks for compatibility with standard drill chucks. An edge-ground land and margin help provide accurate drilling and improved hole concentration. Rolled forged construction and a two-tone polished and black oxide finish make this drill bit a practical choice for repetitive drilling across a range of common materials.

    Might have gotten a bad one but looking at other reviews there are instances where the relief area is cut wrong. I was drying to drill 6061 aluminum and it would not cut. After resharpening it, it seemed to work properly. Check the tip before you start to drill.

    Drill bit for 1/4 in driver bit holes

    I used this drill bit to drill holes in a piece of scrap lumber to make a holder for my 1/4 in driver bits. It's the perfect size for that.
