Decent bit for the money, but short lifespan.

So I only have a three star rating because while the bit did drill through what I needed, it was dulled very quickly while doing so. I drilled through 9, 2 x 4’s nailed together supporting a header on each side of a door in a new construction project. I verified that my drilling area was nail free. After the second set of 2 x 4’s the bit would no longer pull through and the chamfer seemed very blunt. I did start a 3rd set but had to switch to my 1/2” ship’s auger, which of course suffered a similar fate.

Right tool for the right job!

Perfect tool for what I needed. I built a picnic table, 5 benches, 2 end tables, and two small benches for the end of the table. The main support was 6"X6" with 2" lumber attached to both sides, so I needed a long bit. It was sharp and drilled the perfect size hole for the same-size carriage bolt.
