Excellent tool to dethatch small areas of a lawn

Even with all the adapter washers this did not exactly fit my B & S motor spindle. I was able to get it tight enough to work. It ate up most of the grass- wheel barrow loads of it... and left lots of untouched thatch which has to be removed before any grass seed would grow. This "dethatcher blade" might be better at bare dirt preparation.

It worked OK for raking. It was a bit too small (16 inch) for for my 22 inch mower. The smaller blade could not generate sufficient momentum to start the mower easily. Once the mower started, the rake worked as expected. When finished raking I put the 22 inch mower blade back on. The mower started with one pull, as usual. I suggest the manufacturer make a second, longer, version or make the 16 inch blade heavier, especially toward the outside. I think I'll do a little red-neck engineering on the rake before using it next time, just to give it a little more heft.
