Sex: Unsexed

Mallards are native to most countries in the Northern Hemispheres. It is thought that all domestic ducks except Muscovy are derived from the wild Mallard, or "Greenhead" as some call them. They are a small, flying duck that is hunted widely. Our Mallards retain this excellent flying ability and they do an excellent job of hatching and raising one or two broods of ducklings a year. Mallards start to fly for short spurts at 10-12 weeks and are flying very well by 16 weeks. True to their habit as migratory birds, these birds will fly away for the winter, but will often return to the same location in the spring. It is also at about 14-16 weeks that the males get their beautiful coloring - prior to that both the males and females are similarly colored in shades of brown. Mallards are calm ducks that are great entertainment, and organic pest control that are very hardy in all climates

Reviews

Hoover's Hatchery Mallard Ducks, 10 Count Baby Ducklings is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 107.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ducks by mail The duck seemed healthy , one did die in transport and another the same afternoon. I was surprised they were shipped without any water but as I read supposedly they are hydrated enough after hatching.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy ducklings. Shipping comms needs work All 10 ducklings are in great shape. We are 6 days in and they are thriving. They arrived in a small cardboard “box” with hay-like material at the bottom. There was no sign of water or food in the container but the ducklings has energy and did not seem to be weak. I was a bit disappointed by the information provided around shipping and arrival dates. I placed my order on June 10th and was not given any timing for arrival. Then I received a text on the 16th of the shipment being sent for pick up at the post office on the 20th. The good news is, the pick up was the 17th but I wasn’t quite prepared and had to scramble. Also, there’s no indication of the age of the ducklings. These ducklings are serving as pets.

Do I have to buy ten or can I just buy one or two?

Asked by: Youssy

Do I get male baby ducks or female baby ducks? I want to get eggs.

Asked by: Ruby1111
These ducks come as Straight Run so they will be a combination of male and female. You would be able to get eggs based on this

In the description it states they fly away and may return. In the questions and answers it states this isn't the flying type. Which is it? Mine is certainly flying at 9 weeks old.

Asked by: SueDan
The mallards that we sell are the wild flying mallards, and they will fly. The description is accurate. The questions and answers comment is not correct which we are correcting.
