Q: How long does it take for primer to dry.

- A: When working with oil/alkyd resins, the applied thickness & allowable re-coat times are critical to the success, and proper “drying” of the coating. Majic AP Shop Coat Gray Primer should be applied no heavier than 3.0 mils wet, and allowed a full 24 hours to dry before re-coating, or top-coating. Too heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon may result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer. When applied @ 3.0 mils (at 77° F. w/relative humidity @ 50%, or less), Majic AP Gray Primer will dry “tack-free” @ 8 hours, and “dry-through” @ 16… Cooler temperatures, and/or higher humidity may result in slower dry, & re-coat, times.6 years agoHelpful?
