Is there a difference between gear lube and gear oil? Is there a difference in marine specific lube/oil? Can this be used in the lower unit of a boat?

Asked by: Jay077
Yes, you can use the 80W/90 gear oil in the lower unit. The marine M8 gear oil is superior in the lower unit but the 80W/90 was always used before the M* gear oil came out to the market.

What is the GL rating for this oil? Most gear oils are GL 4 or GL 5, but my tractor is old and requires GL 1, I think.

Asked by: Hal 55
This oil is GL 5.

Does this product come in 5gal bucket, can I use this in a Kubota gear box and 4 wheel drive ,calls for sae 80

Asked by: Woodchip
Yes you can, and the manufacturer does make a 5 gal. pail of this product, but we unfortunately do not carry it in this size. You may be able to special order the pails from your local Tractor Supply store, however.

can this oil be used in antique chevy transmissions with bronze and brass bushings? if not, what can?

Asked by: Chevy Dave
This oil would not be suitable for this application. You need to look for a gear oil that is strictly rated as a GL-4 gear oil as that will be safe for yellow metals in the transmission.
