Lister Shearing Star Clippers is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great clippers! Time Saver These clippers were excellent. Cut out grooming time in half and didn’t get hot as quickly. Worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and easy to use. These were recommended to me for shearing sheep. Had to search for and finally borrow 13 tooth blades to rough shear sheep. They worked great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effortless clipping! I selected these clippers after my old reliable ones finally gave up. I had been looking for an upgrade, and I am so glad that I bought these! I raise goats (Toggenburg and Boer) and their coats can be somewhat difficult to clip with less powerful clippers. Although these do get hot after very long sessions, keeping the blades oiled (every 5 minutes of use per manufacturer) they have gone through several animals, and have retained sharpness of blades. The grip is ergonomic and comfortable to use even several hours into work. I would like to see a more expanded line of blade sizes and accessories, so that I could complete my entire purchase at my local Tractor Supply.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from After two years I brought this a two years ago and they already stopped work.

Are the clipper heads covered under warranty? Mine broke off and I bought it on 10/11/2017. I have had the hardest time trying to get up with the manufacturer.

Asked by: Livy91
Per the Manufacurer: Blades are a 30 day replacement item so would not be covered under warranty, but can be sharpened through our Wahl Service Center.

What blade would be recommend for use on my golden retriever’s thick coarse coat?

Asked by: Charlimommy
The manufacturer would recommend using the Star Clipper with a medium blade (8.5 blade, part # 258-11842) which will leave a little more hair that the fine blade but still remove lots of coat.

Can these be used on show lambs and if so, which blade will give the shortest, smoothest shear?

Asked by: DebbieM
These can be used on lambs with a different blade. The manufacturer suggests 13 Tooth Sheep Wizard Blade which is compatible with the Star Clippers.

Will these work on my poodles coat? He has very tight curls and this is equivalent to 2 haircuts.

Asked by: Ricokg
Without purchasing more powerful blades, this may not work on thick coarse fur such as a poodle's.

Can these be used on Alpaca and Llama?

Asked by: Tiffiney
The Lister Star Clipper (45 watt motor) will do an OK job on Alpaca and Llama, definitely not show quality but will get some hair off. The manufacturer recommended clipper for Llama and Alpaca would be their Legend Clipper(150 watt motor) 258-37201.
