The Klein Tools Digital Circuit Breaker Finder with GFCI Outlet Tester is a digital circuit breaker finder used to locate the correct circuit breaker in a panel to which an electrical outlet or fixture is connected. The breaker finder transmitter is connected to the electrical outlet or fixture in the circuit while the receiver is used to scan the breakers in the circuit panel. The transmitter in this breaker finder also features a GFCI outlet tester.

  • GFCI tester consists of two parts; a transmitter connected to the electrical outlet or fixture and a receiver used to scan the panel to locate the correct breaker
  • Receiver delivers clear visual and audible indications when the correct breaker has been located
  • Breaker finder operates on 90 to 120V AC circuits
  • Transmitter incorporates a GFCI outlet tester to inspect the wiring condition at the electrical outlet and test GFCI devices
  • Transmitter docks in the receiver for convenient storage as a single item when the tester is not in use
  • Transmitter incorporates a three-pin plug for connecting to North-American-style grounded electrical outlets
  • Transmitter may be connected to other electrical fixtures using optional accessories which are sold separately (Cat. No. 69411)
  • Receiver powers off automatically after approximately three minutes of non-use to conserve battery life
  • Transmitter is powered by the circuit when connected to the electrical outlet or fixture
  • Low battery indicator for convenience
  • Easily accessible battery compartment; uses one 9V battery in receiver only; transmitter does not require a battery
  • Breaker finder is built to withstand a 6.6-ft. (2 m) drop
  • CAT II 120V safety rating for safe use
  • Measurement Category II is applicable to test and measuring circuits connected directly to utilization points (socket outlets and similar points) of the low-voltage MAINS installation
  • Includes a transmitter, receiver, user manual and 9V battery (for receiver)

I own a handful of Klein tools but this is a huge disappointment. Every time I have used this to locate a circuit breaker, it has never found the correct breaker. I don't really understand how this can be so bad. Luckily I still have a my Sperry CB locator and it never disappointments.

No, I do not recommend this product.

It has yet to be right once. Lots of false positives but misses the right breaker.

No, I do not recommend this product.

When pre-scanning the breakers you must skip AFCI/GFCI breakers that give obvious false readings, else the second scan won't find the correct breaker. You can tell which breakers give false readings because they give a full signal without the transmitter being plugged in anywhere.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Close but no cigar

I bought this several months ago. Part of my panels are identified but some are not. I was replacing a single gang box with a double gang box and adding a switch for under cabinet lighting. I have one panel upstairs and one down. This was on the uptairs so I didn't want to keep running up and down the stairs. I used the tool and it kept giving me the same breaker which was not correct. The correct breaker was one down. I'll give it another shot on my next project.
