Ordered this to replace a previous purchase that lasted around 15 years. This is a cheap imitation. It overheats; I returned this on advice of a KitchenAid chat session since it was under warranty. CSR didn't realize it was overheating, neither did I until I got a replacement. It stops working after a minute or two liquifying fresh tomatoes or making teriaki sauce with fresh garlic and fresh ginger. Not bad making hot cocoa with just milk, cocoa powder, and sugar; but not as frothy as the previous model. Very disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This immersion blender is so convenient to use versus dragging out a blender. I am not disparaging other kitchen tools, it's much easier to grab the immersion blender from a drawer and it doesn't clutter my counter.

Why Did I not get One sooner!

I received this handheld a little more than a month ago. All I can say is why did i not realize bout these sooner. It has replaced my blender and my older regular beater. I have used it to finalize mashed potatoes, made cream of potato soup with it, have made cream of vegetable soup with it. It will not quit either. Even my regular blender had issues making some of the soups. And handy?? The unit stores in a drawer and the removeable mixer attachment makes cleanup a breeze. Plus using the variable speeds and being able to go right into the pot I used to cook in....
