KBS UnderCoat Solvent Asphalt is a solvent based asphalt undercoating that seals wheel wells, frames, gas tanks, and floor pans against road salt and moisture while reducing road noise and vibration. It forms a tough, flexible matte black film, dries to the touch in about 60 minutes, and reaches full cure in 2 to 4 hours. It bonds to bare metal, painted surfaces, fiberglass, and cured KBS RustSeal without a separate primer, and it stays paintable if you want a color matched topcoat later. It is a good fit for farm trucks, trailers, tractor fenders, floor pans, and anything that sees gravel roads and winter salt. Spray it with a KBS Schutz Underseal Spray Gun, or brush or roll it on. The quart covers about 25 to 30 sq ft on a smooth surface. Made in the USA.Clean the surface with KBS Klean to remove grease, oil, and road film, rinse, and let it dry completely. Knock off loose rust and scale. For the best rust protection, coat bare or rusted steel with KBS RustSeal first and let it cure, then apply UnderCoat over it. Apply between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit with 50 percent humidity or less; cooler temperatures slow drying and curing. Stir well and apply with a KBS Schutz Underseal Spray Gun, brush, or roller, waiting about 2 hours between coats. Clean the spray gun right away with KBS number 1 Thinner, and wipe excess off unintended surfaces with it before it sets. Keep it out of rain or moisture for 24 hours. If you use KBS Cavity Coater inside frame rails and rockers, apply it last, after the UnderCoat has fully cured.
