Not so HOT
Used mine on MF 253 oil pan. The temperature was 21 deg. Plugged it in and 5 hours later the plastic case melted and dripped on the floor. Afraid it will possibly catch fire and destroy the tractor and the barn. I see numerous complaints of the case melting. They definitely need a better design or case material and far better overtemperature thermostat. BAD IDEA. Not worth the risk IMO

Does What it Claims!
I bought this a week ago prior to some really cold weather arriving in our area. We have a 25 year old New Holland TC-35 tractor. When the temperature gets around -10C (15F), our tractor will have difficulty starting. We have been using a propane heater to warm the tractor before starting, but we purchased this 300Watt heater. We mount it underneath close to oil pan and use a 20amp rated extension cord. Since using it the tractor has started like it was 20C (68F). The built in thermostat has functioned 100%. So far we have had nights around -20C (-5F) and the heater is working great. Important to use a properly rated extension cord.

Works well. Takes Time.

It takes a good few hours but works to heat the pan. Installation was easy. The magnetism of it is really just strong enough to hold it up. Ive attached pics with the temperature readings over time for reference. I worked in parts for a long while. These kats heaters were constantly returned defective. Over the years I began to suspect it was due to leaving them on machines/trucks/etc in adverse conditions or sometimes leaking oil from the engine had shorted them out. Others I reckon just to get the money back because spring came. Now as a customer I'd say they work but do not leave them attached, clean the pan before attaching, use a correct awg gauge extensioncord & understand its going to take around 3 hours at ambient 25f temps to do anything truly useful. Compatibility with about everything that is not aluminum or plastic.
Yes, I recommend this product.
