Works great and has the ability to measure from the front and back of the instrument. It can also calculate area and volume. Good price too. (P.S. Battery door is a slide off type) Nailed it!

works perfect. true accurate readings every time. couldn't ask for more. must be smart enough to open the battery compartment

Right out of the package, the battery compartment won't open. I might be able to pry it open with a chisel or something, but why bother? The tab on the lid will break and then I'll be stuck with a taped-up nuisance. Returning it today.
