As with any media blaster, the key is DRY air. If you supply this gun with water free air it works GREAT. Also, remember to keep your media material in a sealed container after you open it to keep any moisture out. With over 20 years of experience working with this type of equipment, this is a great item for small do-it-yourself jobs round home for the price of it.

Good but Please Read

Like others stated the aluminum pickup tube is very light and easily breaks off. It is threaded into the top plate. I removed the original pickup tube, tapped the plate to 1/4" pipe thread and put in a 1/4" brass pipe nipple. Ground an angle on the other end for pickup purposes and the gun works great! Since the new tube is straight, it makes putting the can on this sooo much easier. Using this at 150psi works great.

    Useless

It worked as I expected until the nozzle wore out. It was impossible to find a replacement nozzle, so I took it to the local Tractor Supply store in Surprise, AZ. I asked for help in finding a nozzle. The young lady at the help desk took one look on her computer and said there weren't any. I left the sand blaster at her desk as I have no use for it.

    Better than I expected!

I bought this expecting it to be garbage (as most cheap blasters are), but I was not only surprised but impressed! I'm stripping paint off an old truck and sanding around and inside of the tailgate lettering is difficult, but with this it was a breeze. I have a large compressor with clean, dry air so it never clogged or failed to operate. I'm sure there was some nozzle wear so it uses a little more material than when new, but material is cheap and it saves a lot of hand sanding. If this one breaks, I'll get another one just like it.

Used it for small jobs. Most of the time it'll work for half a can, then plug. Got a inline water trap, no difference. Very slow and frustrating. Buying a new gun that is rated higher and uses all media. Not worth the time and hassle. DON'T BUY THIS!

    Nozzle Wear

I have used this product with very good results when it is new. Nozzles wear pretty fast. therefore you loose presure and use more abrasive. The nozzles are not in stock in the store have to order them which is a pain. don't understand as the same nozzle fits their other siphon blaster.great for small projects or parts. I use only fine grit and have not had ANY problems with clogging as mentioned in other reviews. Must be the store and their handling of the product mine is always dry and lump free. It is up to you after purchase to store in a dry area or container. I live in the south with high humidity so it is a good product if used correctly.

    ok fo tiny jobs

I got this to blast a bicycle frame. Well, worked ok, But slow and LOTS of refills of the cup.I ended up getting the DA sander out to do a lot of the tubing (almost as fast, less messy, and cheaper). I then blasted the hard to reach places. Blasting 1/3 of the frame, I still used 50lbs of fine coal slag (25 refills). Note the cfm and pressure- you'll need a pretty large compressor.

    I tried......

Read the reviews and tried anyway. With this gun.... The medium grit coal slag clogged it. Fine grit clogged it to.... Tried screened and cleaned play sand and clogged. It wasn't until I used house window screen to filter fine play sand down to no small rocks that is performed perfect. (Don't use sand without knowing the risks and using respirator.) Downfall is there is no adjustment to gun... And nozzle isn't replaceable. Once it's worn out.... That's it.... Oh and only truly fine grit sand has worked through it for me. And that's at 120 psi.

    Good Little Blaster

The first few times I used this I was ready to throw it away. I tried different PSI between 90 and 100 without any success. Took the nozzle off and saw there was no media coming out even with the nozzle off. I analyzed the problem as not picking up the media. Increased PSI to 110 and it worked like a charm for paint and rust removal.

    Works Great Read my Notes

Works for removing paint and rust. I have been using medium grit coal slag and it works well. I initially had problems with it feeding material. If you put a large oring under the nozzle cap it solves that issue by increasing the gap material feeds through. The cheap hood they sell is way to hot and claustrophobic. I use an old tshirt over my head instead and a face shield/respirator. You need a decent compressor this thing runs through air like crazy at 90psi. I use a 26 gallon 2 HP compressor. Coal goes everywhere, be prepared for that.

    Great for small parts

Bought this to clean an industrial scroll saw that I bought used. The abrassive blaster work amazing and i was only using a small 6 gallon porter cable pancake compressor. Please wear gloves. Face mask and goggles and start having fun this is a time saver than sanding by hand. I cleaned a small part in less than 30 sec. Which would have raken me maybe 15 to 30 min by hand and it gets in hard to reach areas I love this tool. Thank you tractor supply.

I have a larger red pot sandblaster that is hit or miss when using. I saw this and figured cant be worse for small areas. I bought this and a bag of the fine diamond media. This things works better that my larger unit. I ended up using this to blast the rust off the underside of my CJ-7 tub. I get about 2 sq. ft. before having to refill. So refilled often but got the entire tub done and used only 2/3 a bag of media. I am running off a 60 gallon, 5hp Craftsman compressor.

    well made

Well made ,this tool seems to be of a good quality. I tested it on a small body panel from a garden tractor that i am restoring. I was able to strip the panel in fairly short order, although i did have to shake the gun a fair amount to keep it spraying the blasting media. This could be from the type of media i was using. The instructions really do not specify exactly what should be used. I does say not to use sand,so i choose glass beads 80 grit. Over all for the price of this tool i think it was a good purchase.

I bout this about 3 weeks ago. Been blasting a lot of glass with it. I use the Bull brand sand. I did wear out the nozzle like some have said here. So I took metal tape and wrapped it around the worn out part. It worked like a charm. Since I can't find parts this has to do for a while. Over all I like the way it performs.

    Hand held sand blaster

Purchased blaster about 2 years ago. Used it once and put it up. Needed it again for another project. Think I learned something today. Using the Black diamond blasting media, the unit seems to function much better with the smallest sized grit. Wouldn't cut thru old paint with the medium grit, but when I switched to the small grit, the paint came off in a heart beat. This is a good little unit for small projects, use the smallest sized grit and you will get the job done.

This is just the blaster for small jobs. Restoring an old Harley has been perfect for blasting smaller parts. I've run about 300lbs of abrasive through it and just using a 5 gal compressor (a lot of wait time for air). You just cannot beat it for the price cons: can not buy new nozzles, - one star
