ImPECKables Wooden Chicken Playground

Was a little bit difficult to put together, and the chickens didn't use it right away.

My wife purchased this today and we assembled it promptly. The way the product was pictured on the box made its size seem much larger than it actually is, which is not nearly substantial enough for adult chickens by any stretch of the imagination. The directions were nowhere near specific enough (there are correct positions for each piece to be assembled but there was no attempt to bring attention to that fact, and the position/differences of the predrilled holes were very nuanced, so some attention was absolutely necessary). The wood is stained but not sealed and it’s very lightweight, like balsa wood, so my chickens are as heavy as this toy is assembled, which is not sturdy enough for them to want to land or jump on. The “ladder” (a joke in and of itself) didn’t align with the bottom stringer it was supposed be attach to so I used a piece of real lumber, which will give it some stability, thankfully. That mistake/workaround was the best part of the whole process. The idea that TSC has put their name on this item and on their shelves is beyond alarming; it is ridiculous! She should be refunded her money, no questions asked! She was hoping to use this to help with a bullying chicken by giving our girls something to occupy them and all we did was waste valuable time and money. We weren’t putting up a decoration!, we needed this to actually function.

For the typical direction this was not far from them. But in the end it wasn't as bad as the other reviews. I was able to get it together, it serves it's purpose and I didn't have to diy something.

Not sturdy at all. Don’t even waste your money. I spent the evening in the ER with my son after the playground started to collapse and he tried to stop it. It squished his fingers to the point of his nails being removed and having to have stitches. If it wasn’t my son, it would have been my chicks. Learn from my mistake and don’t waste money.
